It was automatic and belonged to the Ivory Coast embassy. Cool choice though, if they sold those here I’d totally buy one.

Excuse the bad pictures, I can’t send them to myself in high resolution because of my trash internet connection. #Dieselgate

Looks like a Suzuki Kizashi and an Audi Allroad had a love child.

Sad that any diplomats can bring any car they want from their home country and drive it here in the U.S., but we get the shaft because crash testing.

Looks like VAG is trying to smooth things over with the US over the diesel scandal by sending their best diplomats from the Czech Republic. His negotiating skills may be Superb, but I don’t think his status as an illegal alien will go over well with US officials.

Sad that if you are into cars, the US doesn’t really have Freedom for you to drive whatever car you want.

I saw a Dacia Duster when I went to DC a few months ago. My mind blew.

It’s not just the US. Luxury car makers afraid of gray market imports and currency differences reducing the value of their products in a given market lobbied hard for these kinds of import laws everywhere. Many countries in Europe, Canada, Japan, and probably everyone else in the G8 at least has some kind of import restriction law on the books because of this.

Nope, no import restriction in Europe. We can import and register whatever we please.

No such restriction in the UK to my knowledge as long as it will pass an MOT, you’ll be fine.
